LANSING – Senator-elect Joe Hune, R-Hamburg, today announced the committees that he will lead for the 2011-2014 legislative term in the Michigan Senate.
Hune will chair three standing committees, including the Senate Agriculture, Insurance and Redistricting committees.
“With a background in agriculture, I’m excited about the prospect of working directly with this important industry,” said Hune. “It is one of the few parts of the state’s economy that is actually growing. I am also looking forward to continuing my work with the insurance industry as chair of that committee.”
While serving in the state House, Hune chaired the Insurance Committee.
From the 22nd Senate District, Hune will represent the counties of Livingston and Shiawassee as well as the southern part of Ingham County. The portion of Ingham County includes Bunkerhill, Leslie, Stockbridge and Vevay townships and the cities of Leslie and Mason.
